Walmart, in general, seems to have very poor customer service. I would honestly rather pay more money elsewhere if it means receiving better service. Many items are locked behind glass cases, and getting someone to unlock them is extremely difficult. I’ve tried on multiple days and ended up leaving each time to purchase the item somewhere else. I decided to try again only because this Walmart is close to my home and usually convenient. On this visit, another customer and I were waiting for assistance at a locked case. It took a very long time for anyone to come, despite asking multiple associates, pressing the help button in the aisle, and even having a page sent over the intercom. When the manager finally arrived, I let the other customer go first. The manager opened the case and allowed her to take her item herself and walk away with it. When it was my turn, the manager opened the case again, but when I reached for my item, she told me not to touch it and said she would retrieve it herself and have it sent to the front once I finished shopping. This was confusing and frustrating. I had just watched another customer retrieve a locked item and walk away freely, yet I was immediately treated as if I couldn’t be trusted. The manager said it was due to the item itself, but if that’s the case, then why was the other item locked up as well? The inconsistency in how customers are treated made the experience uncomfortable, discouraging, and honestly, I would rather drive further away to get better services somewhere else. As a side note, if items are kept locked behind glass cases, it would be helpful to ensure associates are “available” to assist customers and that all locked items are handled consistently for every customer!

Sunday, January 18th at approximately 13:00 hours. No carts, no hand baskets, and the philosophy seems to be go outside and get one. What has happened to customer service? Stores absolutely believe they are doing people a favor by being there.

01/18/26: Three stars. I come here on Sunday mornings to grocery shop because I do not like large crowds. Yet every time there is always someone standing in front of the item I need. It's usually an employee who won't move when asked politely. Now they've got reorganizing going on and you can't find what you need. I worked here when they first opened their doors and I'm impressed that the level of service has stayed at its very low bar since then. That's an accomplishment right?

This is by far the worst customer service experience in any store I have ever seen. Even Dollar General provides better and more competent service than this Walmart. I ordered passport photos online, and the system confirmed that they would be ready for pickup within one hour. Then, without any explanation, I received another message saying the order was delayed indefinitely. When I came to the store, the photo center sent me to Customer Service. Customer Service told me to call the support line. The phone support told me to cancel the order and wait up to a week to get my money back. This level of disorganization is unbelievable. Nobody knew anything, nobody wanted to help, and every employee just passed the problem on to someone else. It feels like the customer support staff has absolutely no idea what they are doing. Walmart, you seriously need to retrain your employees. This was an awful, frustrating, completely unprofessional experience.

Walmart in Boiling Springs is clean, organized, and surprisingly well-run compared to some other locations. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially in grocery and electronics. Checkout is usually smooth, and the self-checkout lanes move quickly even during busy hours. Prices are consistent, the pickup area runs efficiently, and the store stays stocked on essentials. Parking is easy and the layout makes it simple to get in and out fast. A reliable stop for everything from hardware to groceries.
